Phantom...he was one of the "greats!!!" I feel fortunate to have seen, admired and competed against him!!!!
He surely set the standard for greatness in this area and all over the world ....Shelley

Terry and I are so sorry to hear of Phantom's passing. The Dude was a special,
special boy. We have very fond memories of him ...... What a face and a
personality unmatched. One of our favourite all-time Shelties.

I am so sorry to hear that you have lost such a special dog. There aren't many that get to his status - and I'm sure he was really special in your daily life as well. Phantom was one of those dogs that everyone knows by one name - and he certainly had a legacy in his producing ability. Keep all those memories close to your heart, even though he has now crossed the bridge.

My heart goes out to you at this time of your loss of THE PHANTOM. I was very lucky to be able to see him in the flesh and I have to admitt he was GORGEOUS. And in turn produced beautifully for you. His kids, grandkids, great grandkids etc etc will live on for years to come. Just know that for every person who only got to see THE PHANTOM as I did he left a very strong impact.
....Brenda

We are sorry to hear of the passing of a legend…Phantom was a once in a lifetime dog, one that did it all…a show dog, a sire and a great friend. He certainly left his mark on your breeding program and that of many others. You should rejoice in the fact that you shared some great times in the dog game with this beautiful boy!
....Kim & Pete

I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT PHANTOM WAS THE MODEL IN MY MIND THAT I JUDGE ALL
SHELTIES BY
....Martin

I am truly sorry to hear of Phantom's passing; I know how devastated you
must be...I have been there myself.
I can still remember when you brought him to the DC&SSA when he was about 12
weeks old, and had me look at him.
I knew from the moment I set eyes on this very special puppy, that he was
destined for greatness; the lovely head detail; elegant outline, and even at
that tender age, a real "look at me" attitude.
As an adult, he was a force to be reckoned with in the ring, and certainly
set the bar for the prepotent stud dogs of his day.
Although you are grieving now, take some comfort in the fact that you bred
an outstanding dog, who not only was a top winning Sheltie, but also was one
of the top producing sires of all time. He has rightfully earned his place
in the history books, and no one will ever forget the Phantom, or the
wonderful legacy that he has left you and others in his kids and grandkids.

There are so few Shelties that become so special to so many. The Phantom was one of them. I can remember the day you won your first "Best in Show". We were so proud of you both. Judges as well as Sheltie breeders where greatly impressed with the quality of this dog but just as noteworthy was his electrifying presence. We all sensed he knew he was something special.
It took tremendous foresight and responsibility to promote this once in a lifetime dog. It also took incredible unselfishness to share him with so many.
Our heart goes out to you and your family at this time....but in time the tears will give way to inner peace as you remember this wonderful dog you where blessed with. The Phantom will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
He has earned his place in the sun with the"Great Ones

Nancy, he lives on in many pedigrees now and in the future he knows he was
loved by you as well as many others. May you find peace in seeing what he
has left behind. Many share your grief and thank you as well for sharing him
with all.
....Patti

Phantom really was your soul mate, and
such a wonderful contributor to our breed. I was never fortunate enough
to meet him before he went to Japan, but I do have him in my lineage and
for that I am truly grateful.
....Bettijane

My deepest condolences on the passing of one of the truely great ones to the Breed. He will forever live on..............
....Esther

We remember the excitement that Phantom brought to your life way back in 91. He was an amazing dog! He was and always will be in our minds, the picture perfect Sheltie.
We have been so blessed to have benefited from the hard work and LOVE that you put into your dogs.
....Jeff & Sharon

We've never met, but I saw your Phantom some years ago, in Boston I think.
He took my breath away! I considered breeding to him, but as fate would
have it, that never materialized.
You've had a really difficult time recently, and my heart aches for you.
These precious dogs touch our souls, and steal a piece of our hearts when
they leave us.

It is never easy to say farewell to a Great Dog who brought so much quality to the Sheltie world, his legend will always live on in his children, great grandchildren for ever to be enjoyed by all. You were blessed to have bred/owned and loved him, let the happy moments and special times you spent with him will be with you always and know that he is with you in spirit and always in your heart. All his wins were just the icing on the cake for it will be his love for you that the two of you shared that will bring you peace and watch over you for all times...

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your great dog "The Phantom". No matter where he ended his life on this plane, he was yours first, foremost and always. I grieve for you, and for the family in Japan (?) which also loved him.
I remember the one time he was here for our Specialty - how he SHONE! And now that he has his wings and has learned to fly he can shine once more as one of the new stars in the heavens above. Maybe, on a clear night, when you look upwards, you will catch a glimpse of him, winking down at you...

My sincere condolences on the passing of such a great little "man".......he
does, indeed, leave a long legacy behind him.........
....
Betty

He certainly made an impact on the
breed while he was here. Its never easy to lose ANY of them, but there are
always certain ones that became your heart. At least you have lots of kids
down from him that can carry on in daddy's footsteps.
....
Judy

Such a great loss to the sheltie world! Rest well, dear Phantom!

Nancy...my most heartfelt condolences on the loss of one of the breeds GREATEST....my entire kennel was based on Phantom..
His legacy will live on ...
.... Irene

When I began in shelties, the "name" that was on
everyone's lips was "The Phantom". I never had the good fortune to see him
in the flesh, but you are right about his legend living on. He had long ago
joined the ranks of the "names" - Piano Man, Peter, Josh, etc. Only the
Phantom had an extra special place in legend, because he came from here -
not from away. He did more to spread the name of shelties (and Canadian
shelties) than any other dog before (and likely since). How such tiny feet
could leave such huge paw prints across time and space into legend is part
of his story. Wish I had seen him, known him, been able to fully appreciate
him....

Phantom was the sire of my foundation sable line, He sired Racetta's Phantom's Ghost Rider(pts)- sired Ch, Twin Creeks Willow the Wind, ,I recently accquired a 10 week old boy out of my lines and he resembles phantom so much, his name is going to be the legend returns.. he is identical to his great grand sire, I hope hes half the dog phantom was!
